The development from child to youth includes important changes in a person's maturity. Essentially these are :

• Sexual maturity and the development of the personality (Puberty)
• Confirmation i.e. taking responsibility for one's own soul
• Graduation from school and the choice  of profession
• The process of detachment from the parents and of growing into soceity 

In this difficult transitional period between child and adult parents are required to release their children into independence and to present themselves as a friend and advisor.

Understanding for the youth and it's actions is also a special challenge for the ministers and carers. Help and support is only possible if one knows the youngsters needs. That is why youth priests take over their spiritual guidance .These are taught accordingly so as to be able to help in youth specific questions.

The church provides the youth with an appropriate range of activities, e.g. Youth Services, Youth Excursions, Youth Evenings, Youth Choir and -Orchestra.
